Audio Research is an American manufacturer of high end vacuum tube audio equipment, founded in Minnesota in 1970 by Bill Johnson. Widely regarded as one of the originators of high end audio, the company hand builds its preamplifiers, integrated amplifiers, and monoblock power amplifiers in house, with current models including the I/70 integrated amplifier, the Reference 20 preamplifier, and the 330M monoblocks. Audio Research is known for its transparent sound and signature illuminated meters, earning it a reputation as a benchmark name in tube audio for more than five decades.
