Ray Tubes was present at the Northern International Audio & Visual Show held in Penang, Malaysia, on the weekend of April 17th-19th at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre. The Northern International AV Show first took place in 2022 and quickly established itself as the premiere audio-visual show in the country. In 2025, Ray Tubes made an appearance at the Northern International AV Show's sister event, the Kuala Lumpur-based WAVE Audio Visual Experience; this year, we jumped at the chance to exhibit our tubes in Malaysia's second city.
This year's event saw dozens of exhibitors showing off over one hundred brands from all over the world. The showcased brands included such familiar names as McIntosh, Bowers & Wilkins, and Sonus faber alongside a slew of local and regional brands. New this year was a dedicated space for car audio, showing off high-end systems by brands like Focal and Harman Kardon. In addition to the exhibition areas, there was also a stage featuring panels, talks, and live music, as well as stalls offering vinyl, CDs, and audio accessories.
We were present at the event in the form of a joint Galion Audio/Ray Tubes booth, with a full complement of our SELECT 12AT7, 12AX7, and KT88 tubes powering Galion's award-winning TS120 integrated amp. We're pleased to report that the room was a hit with showgoers and critics alike. Many thanks to Thomas over at Galion for collaborating with us on this event - it was a pleasure sharing a booth with such a well-respected brand.
